Terms of Use — Bargo Free APIs

These terms govern access to the Bargo Free APIs (the "API") and any data returned by it (the "Data"). By generating a key or calling the API you agree to them.

1. License

We grant you a free, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the API and use the Data within your own applications, websites, agents, research and analyses, subject to these terms.

2. Attribution is required (visible, above the fold)

Any page, app, product, or output that displays Data from the API must include a clear attribution to Bargo as a clickable link to https://bargo.ai — e.g. "Data via Bargo". The credit must be:

The credit convention follows the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) standard for how to give credit (name + link). For clarity, the raw Data is not released under a blanket CC BY grant — the attribution norm is CC BY-style, but redistribution of the raw records is reserved under Section 3. When you display Data via our embed widget, you remain responsible for showing this attribution alongside it.

3. No redistribution

You may not redistribute, republish, resell, syndicate, sublicense, mirror, or otherwise make the Data available to third parties — whether in bulk or in part, as files, exports, datasets, feeds, or a competing API. Handing the raw records to others, or building a service that re-serves them, is prohibited.

4. Derivative works

You may create and share derivative works — aggregations, statistics, visualizations, models, signals, commentary — provided they do not include, expose, or allow reconstruction of the underlying raw records obtained from the API. Derivative works must still carry the attribution in Section 2.

5. Display vs. redistribution

Showing live results to your own end users (via your own API calls or our embed widget), with attribution, is permitted and is not "redistribution." Storing the raw Data and providing it to other parties — or exposing it through your own endpoint — is redistribution and is not allowed.

6. Caching

You may cache API responses for your own application's performance and reliability. Caching is for your own use only and does not grant any right to redistribute.

7. Acceptable use

Don't attempt to evade rate limits, scrape around them, probe or disrupt the service, or use the API to build a product that competes with Bargo' data offerings. We may rate-limit, suspend, or revoke keys for abuse.

8. Data, accuracy & no advice

The Data is compiled from public U.S. STOCK Act disclosures and enriched by Bargo (including performance figures, which are our addition). Disclosures carry a legal lag of up to ~45 days. The Data is provided "as is," without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a purpose, and is informational only — not investment advice.

9. Changes & termination

We may change these terms, the endpoints, and the rate limits at any time, and may revoke access for any violation. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
